Cows and climate change

If you follow the "green" movement much, you have likely picked up an anti-livestock sentiment that is commonly held in that school of thought.  In fact, whether or not you follow it you have probably heard that livestock are bad for the environment for a variety of reasons.  It is true that livestock can be detrimental when poorly managed.  However, they can also be powerful tools to restore grasslands, which are a critical part of our planet's ecosystem.  Allan Savory has pioneered a framework in which livestock, properly managed, have made incredible improvements in land production and overall environmental health.  In this video, he explains how livestock can actually help solve the problem of climate change – the thing some accuse livestock of contributing to.
